CD A5 DIGIPAK + 20-page Booklet + Digital Streaming
TAG/The Anti Group’s new album, AMMA, starts where the famous Digitaria album (TAGC, 1986) ends. The central theme remains the Dogon people (Mali/Burkina Faso) and their amazing cosmogony. The booklet takes up and deepens the scientific research of the last 36 years on the mysteries of the Dogon belief through texts, paintings and artistic assemblages by Adi Newton, while the album is a visionary mixture of sound brushstrokes composed of sub-Saharan polyrhythms, astral ambient and deterritorialized space-jazz, accompanied by Adi Newton’s trumpet from the ambisonic recordings of Digitaria. AMMA carves out a very important space in Newton’s discography as his most explicitly pictorial and mysterious album. AMMA contains seven original audio tracks for a total of more than one hour of music (67:20). Six of the tracks are previously unreleased, while the seventh, Spiritual Psychosynthesis, is a more extended, desert-like and enigmatic version of the track already featured on Matar/TAG’s Flexi Disc 7”.
A personal non-transferable code to access unlimited digital streaming is included when purchasing the product.
We’d like to kindly remind you there are several cross-purchase combinations available with the entire ARMComm Europe catalogue including Clock DVA, The Anti Group, TAGC and Adi Newton.
